Music and Worship

First Baptist Church offers a worship service that is geared to reach out and minister to every generation present. Our church offers a diverse and inspiring blended worship experience with hymns and praise songs. Our heart’s desire is for the congregation to meet with God, glorify God’s name through Jesus Christ, and be transformed by the experience. If you would like to get involved in our music ministries, please check out the various opportunities below.

Get Involved with the Sanctuary Choir!

In January, our choir discussed our purpose, vision, and goals for 2012. If these goals excite you, then consider joining the choir or praying for our ministry.

FBC Marlin Sanctuary Choir 2012 Goals:

1)    To grow as musicians and enlist new musicians in the worship and music ministry.

2)    To learn more about worship as we lead the congregation in worship.

3)    To lead worship in more ways than just singing in the choir loft.

4)    To actively foster community between the churches and people of Marlin.

If you are interested in singing in the choir on a regular basis, please talk to James Cheesman.  We meet every Wednesday night from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Voice lessons are available upon appointment for anyone interested in learning more about singing, choral music, and reading music.

Opportunities to Get Involved:

Choir Practice- 7-8 pm on Wednesday nights. The choir usually sings a welcome song and special music at least 3 Sundays out of the month.

Hand Bell Practice- 8-9 pm on Wednesday nights during the Spring.

Drama Practice- The church puts on an annual dinner theater and yearly Christmas musical.
